Cone 6 is the workhorse of the electric kiln — hot enough for real stoneware, cool enough for home kilns. Here's the full journey, start to finish.

Greenware to bisque

Dry it slow. Bone-dry clay that still looks dry can hold moisture in the foot. Bisque to 04, slowly enough that nothing blows.

Glaze to cone 6

ramp      150°C an hour, no faster
peak      1220°C, hold for ten
cool      slow through 573°C (quartz inversion)

The unload

Open at 60°C, not before. The crack you hear is glaze dunting, and it's avoidable.
